Mobility or health barriers
Leaving home or travelling to an office may be difficult because of mobility, pain, illness, recovery, or other health-related concerns.
Home-Based Therapy
When travel, mobility, technology, caregiving, or other barriers make it difficult to attend an office appointment, home-based therapy may offer a more accessible path to support.
Availability, service area, and suitability are discussed individually during intake.
Care with fewer barriers
For some people, attending therapy in an office or joining a virtual appointment is not practical. Health concerns, limited mobility, caregiving responsibilities, transportation difficulties, technology barriers, or other circumstances can make it harder to access care.
Home-based therapy offers an in-person option in a familiar environment. It is designed to reduce barriers while providing the same thoughtful, respectful approach to understanding your concerns and working toward meaningful goals.
Talk with our office about availabilityWhen home-based care may help
Home visits may be considered when practical or personal circumstances create meaningful barriers to office-based or online therapy.
Leaving home or travelling to an office may be difficult because of mobility, pain, illness, recovery, or other health-related concerns.
Limited access to reliable transportation, driving concerns, distance, or other travel-related obstacles may make home visits worth discussing.
Some caregivers have responsibilities that make leaving home for a scheduled office appointment especially challenging.
When reliable internet, a suitable device, digital comfort, or a private online space is unavailable, virtual appointments may not be practical.
Some clients feel more at ease beginning a therapeutic conversation in a setting that is familiar and comfortable to them.
Home-based therapy may be discussed when a client’s living situation or day-to-day circumstances make this format more appropriate.
A thoughtful intake process
Because home-based therapy involves practical, privacy, safety, and scheduling considerations, the first step is a conversation with our office to understand whether this format may be appropriate.
Share the barriers you are facing, the type of support you are seeking, and the area where you live.
The office will discuss whether home-based therapy, office-based therapy, online therapy, or another option may best fit your situation.
If a home visit is appropriate, practical details are arranged to support a focused and professional therapeutic space.
Support focused on your goals
The location may be different, but the purpose of therapy remains the same: making room to understand what is happening and work toward changes that matter to you.
Explore worry, overwhelm, panic, and the pressures affecting your day-to-day well-being.
Work through low mood, isolation, loss of motivation, and challenging life changes.
Receive thoughtful support for experiences that continue to affect safety, confidence, and emotional well-being.
Talk through relationship strain, caregiving pressures, changing roles, and communication challenges.
Privacy and suitability matter
A home visit is not automatically the right solution for every person or situation. The ability to create a private space, the nature of the concern, the home environment, travel distance, clinician availability, and practical safety considerations all inform whether it is appropriate.
Home-based therapy is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than waiting for an appointment.
